Last updated: September 5, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Morus ("we", "us", "the app") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our internet (VoIP) calling and dialer application. By installing or using Morus, you agree to the practices described below.
To create and secure your calling account we may collect your phone number, email address, a chosen username/PIN, and country/region.
With your permission, the app reads your device contacts so you can place calls to and identify people in your address book. Contact data is used to enable calling features and is not sold.
The microphone is used only during a call to transmit your voice to the other party. See Section 4.
Device model, operating-system version, app version, language, a device identifier, and network/connection information used to route calls and diagnose problems.
Feature usage, crash logs, and performance data (via Firebase) to keep the app stable and improve it.
We show ads via Google AdMob, which may use your advertising identifier and limited device data to serve and measure ads.
| Permission | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Microphone (RECORD_AUDIO) | Capture your voice during an active call. |
| Contacts (READ/WRITE_CONTACTS) | Show your contacts to dial and, if you choose, save call contacts. |
| Phone state (READ_PHONE_STATE) | Detect and manage call state (e.g., pause on an incoming cellular call). |
| Internet / Network / Wi-Fi state | Place VoIP calls and check connectivity. |
| Notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS) | Notify you of incoming calls and messages. |
| Foreground service / Wake lock | Keep calls connected and audio flowing while in a call. |
| Display over other apps / Full-screen | Show the incoming-call screen over the lock screen. |
| Bluetooth / Modify audio settings | Route call audio to headsets and manage volume. |
You can revoke permissions any time in your device settings; some calling features may stop working without them.
Morus places voice calls over the internet. Your voice audio is transmitted in real time to connect your call. We do not record or store the contents of your calls. We may keep basic call metadata (such as time, duration, and destination) for billing, troubleshooting, and abuse prevention.
We rely on trusted providers who process data under their own privacy policies:
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only: (a) with the service providers listed above to operate the app; (b) to complete a call you initiate; (c) when required by law or to protect rights and safety; or (d) as part of a business transfer, with notice.
We keep personal data only as long as needed to provide the service and for legitimate legal, billing, and security purposes. When no longer required, data is deleted or anonymized.
We use industry-standard measures (encryption in transit, access controls) to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to safeguard your information.
Depending on your region, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Contact us to exercise these rights.
You may request deletion of your account and associated personal data at any time from within the app (Settings โ Delete Account) or by emailing us at the address below. We will process verified requests within 30 days, subject to legal retention requirements.
Morus is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
